We’ve tried to keep our budget as low as possible to keep things affordable.
This is a labour of love for many of the organizers, performers, workshop leaders, and administration team who are working year-round on the festival. We do our best to compensate our talent well, but note that all parties are volunteering many hours to make this event affordable. We are deeply grateful for all of our volunteers and community members who make the magic happen!
If you are able to purchase a ticket at a higher tier price, this leaves lower tier tickets available for lower income folks and helps to make the festival more sustainable. Many thanks!

Scholarship Application
We are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships to support participation in this year’s Big Branch Festival.
These scholarships are intended for individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend due to financial constraints. If this support would make a meaningful difference for you, we warmly encourage you to apply.
To apply, please send us a short description (max. one page) of:
· Your current relationship with balfolk (e.g., how you engage with the music, dance, or community)
· The amount of financial support you are requesting
We will review applications with care and aim to support as many participants as possible within our available funds.
Please send your application to bigbranchfestival@gmail.com. Applicants will be accepted until Wednesday July 15, 2026. Late applications will be accepted based on available funds.
